Acclaimed singer-songwriter Chrissy I-EECE
announces the release of her new single, “Frente a Frente,” a tropical music production that
firmly embraces salsa as the centerpiece of this new artistic chapter. With this release, the artist
reconnects with her musical roots and delivers an emotionally charged performance, blending
the timeless essence of romantic salsa with contemporary elements that resonate with today’s
audiences.
The single was written by Chrissy Peña and produced by Adan Pérez, alongside a team of
outstanding musicians and industry professionals. Mixing and mastering were handled by Eric
Maldonado at Paris Studios, while background vocals were performed by Magdeline Benitez and
Jancy Santiago. The instrumentation features percussion by Chino Ramos, horn arrangements
by Charles García, and trumpet performances by David Zabala, resulting in an authentic and
elegant sound within the tropical genre.
With a career dating back to the late 1980s in the freestyle genre, the artist first rose to
prominence through a series of hits that established her as a distinctive voice within the Latin
dance movement. She later expanded into salsa, developing multiple productions within the
tropical music genre. Among them are salsa renditions of songs such as “Se Acabó,”
popularized by La Lupe, as well as adaptations of “Superstar,” “I Miss You,” and “Tonight I
Celebrate My Love for You,” originally performed in English and reimagined with a Latin identity.
In this new chapter, Chrissy I-EECE presents a body of work defined by artistic maturity,
introspection, and a deeper connection with her audience. The inspiration behind “Frente a
Frente” comes from love in all its forms. In the artist’s own words:
“Love in all its forms has always inspired me — being in love, losing love, or longing to be loved.
‘Frente a Frente’ was born from that deep feeling of loving and missing someone, from the
desire to feel close to someone special again, even if only for a moment.”
Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to collaborate and share the stage with
major figures in Latin music, including Marc Anthony and La India, as well as genre icons such
as Tito Nieves, Tito Puente, and Tony Vega. She also recorded a bolero alongside American
artist Christopher Williams, further showcasing her musical versatility.
Her professional relationship with Marc Anthony dates back to the late 1980s, when both artists
were part of the same management company. During that period, they spent time together in
the recording studio, collaborating on various musical projects. In 1991, Marc Anthony wrote
and participated in a track recorded by the artist for Atlantic Records, which also featured
background vocals by La India and George Lamond. They additionally shared the stage at
various live performances and appeared together in the film An East Side Story, alongside
Danny Rivera and Iris Chacón. Later on, both artists became part of RMM Records, where in
1994 they were introduced as part of a new generation of salsa artists, marking a defining
moment in their respective careers.
With this release, Chrissy I-EECE reaffirms her commitment to musical excellence and
continues to establish herself as a versatile artist who transcends genres, connecting with
audiences worldwide through authentic and emotionally resonant music.
